Double bill: FLÖKT + being
- language no problem
The Icelandic choreographer Bára Sigfúsdóttir is known for her personal, highly visual and imaginative work. She presents two of her creations in an exciting double bill. During FLÖKT you are invited to take place in a white silk dome for a partly visible and partly invisible dance between bodies, materials, sound, space and the atmosphere. For the duet being Bára collaborates with the Iranian dancers Masoumeh Jalalieh and SeyedAlireza Mirmohammad. The choreography is a poetic dialogue between Western European and Middle Eastern culture and society.
FLÖKT by Bára Sigfúsdóttir and Tinna Ottesen
FLÖKT – a flickering flow offers an exploration of our bodily connection with the world surrounding us. It suggests that nature is not something that solely exists outside of us but also something we can sense and experience through our bodies. The audience is invited into a white silk dome, an environment which is in a constant state of transition and allows you to feel the close proximity of things, bodies, the space, the sound, the lights and the massive presence of this environment which literally surrounds you. Together we undertake a journey inside an interconnected poetic miniature of our world
Warning: Because of the corona virus and diplomatic measures against Iran the performance being is cancelled. FLÖKT will be on show.
being by Bára Sigfúsdóttir
While teaching a workshop in Iran, Bára got intrigued by the skills and presence of two local artists, Masoumeh Jalalieh and SeyedAlireza Mirmohammadi. This experience planted the seed for an ongoing artistic affinity between the three of them, resulting in being. This performance is the meeting between bodies, between the two people on stage, between them and the audience and between Western European and Middle Eastern culture and society. The stage becomes a place to explore what we share rather than to underline our differences.
