• Moving Futures
      Day 2

  • Moving Futures will travel to Grand Theatre again. On the 16th and 17th of May you can be surprised by the passionate, cheeky and barrier-breaking dance makers and performers of today. See how the future moves them and how they move the future. In presentations, pop-up performances, installations, workshops, dance films and parties, you will experience dance from all perspectives.

This sixth edition pays tribute to hope, not as naive trust but as an energetic look ahead. The hope of a new generation of boundless and fearless makers.

Moving Futures is an initiative of five national production companies that bring together remarkable work by talented choreographers in one travelling festival for contemporary dance.

    Line-up:

    Annemijn Rijk | Re:Born
A lecture performance and short dance film about getting up. How do you get up if you are thrown into life so hard? How do you proceed if life falls cold on your roof? How do you stand up if you don’t know how to get your body together?

    Joseph Simon | Ballet Russe
Ballet Russe is a duet verging between ballet and house dance. Inspired by the story of the Ballets Russes, that stirred up Paris a century ago with their unconventional and foreign flair, Joseph seeks to reinvestigate the attraction of the exotic.

    Lois Alexander | Neptune
Surrounded by melting ice blocks, Lois Alexander explores the structures that have influenced women of colour throughout history.

Kim-Jomi Fischer en Marta Alstadsæter | As Much As It Is Worth

As Much As It Is Worth is a sensitive duet about the subtle and nuanced moment of being in balance. Kim-Jomi Fischer and Marta Alstadsæter develop work in which they combine their backgrounds in circus and contemporary dance.
