  • In the coming month, twenty musicians from the Noord Nederlands Orkest will perform at various locations in the city of Groningen, including Grand Theatre.

From Friday 19 June, the Noord Nederlands Orkest (NNO) will perform under the heading Solo for two concerts for 1 person. Because in times of crisis like this, when cultural life had come to a complete standstill, the need for real personal contact, connection and a new musical experience grows. Musicians from the Noord Nederlands Orkest give people a new concert experience.

The NNO offers individual concerts of ten minutes each: one listener and one musician – musical intimacy at a safe distance. A personal concert is created through the connection between musician and listener. This concept is inspired by the famous project of Marina Abramovic in the MOMA: The artist is present and the 1:1 concerts by Staatsoper Stuttgart.
Who the musician is, and which instrument he or she plays, will only be announced when the concert starts. So it is a surprise. A delegation from the orchestra is looking forward to performing these concerts. In addition to the musicians of the NNO, one can also sit opposite the permanent guest conductor Antony Hermus, he is also part of the NNO’ers delegation. For he is not only a celebrated conductor, but also also a good pianist.
